Jo van Dalen-Amen who lives in Harderwijk the Netherlands was born in 1938  in Amsterdam-Holland, in a family were the paranormal was quite normal. The family migrated in the early fifties to Australia, where Jo grew up in the harsh "bush", while she and here family members were cut off from any luxury. These circumstances and being one with nature, have contributed to her spiritual development.

She never received any formal painting or drawing lessons, this in fact would only have limited the early development of her talent, life itself and life's rhythms have been her teachers. After her marriage back in Holland, during a long illness she found that she could draw from the creative source within herself.

In her work One find's an inspiration which touches the soul of those who come in contact with her paintings and poetry. She is grateful to have been chosen as an instrument, to pass on love, light and solace to those in need.

Where does she get the inspiration for her works of art? "I do not look for it, I just feel an urge to paint, and follow that urge" she says.
